Sherri Schwieterman CPM PMP . . .

I ran the Commit to be Fit 5K this weekend. Finished 19th in my age class and in the 25% overall. I credit my own determination and my cross training at B.O.S.S. Fitness. It's pretty amazing for someone with Cystic Fibrosis to walk a 5K, let alone run one. Thanks for helping to make this happen. Next . . . the half marathon in October!!

I could say with complete confidence that B.O.S.S Fitness has been one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. I say this because if it weren't for my mom attending a fundraiser and winning a basket from B.O.S.S., I may have never known that the gym existed. My mom gave me the basket because she thought I may benefit from the five free training sessions she won. She would ask me every week if I had called them, but I would get defensive and ignore the change that lay in front of me. That basket sat in my apartment for months before I even got up the courage to call and make a change.

In February 2008, I finally decided to go in. I was truly in denial that I had let myself go again, and my weight had hit an all time high. I still remember what James said when I asked if I should bring anything, he said, "No, just prepare to sweat". And that I did. Once my free trainings were up, I quickly realized that if I was ever going to be successful I needed to get over my stubbornness and let someone else help me with my goals. I also knew that they were there to inspire me, and be my coaches. Every time a client of the month picture went up I would read about that person, and I knew I wanted to be on that wall. I am so thankful for the trainers at B.O.S.S., they have believed in me no matter what. They have pushed me to levels I never thought I could achieve, and it seemed at times they knew me better than I knew myself.

I understand now why I have never been able to achieve my weight loss goals, because I constantly doubt myself. When this six week process began, I read over the rules and laughed. I thought, "There is absolutely no way I can give all these things up". So I told James that I wasn't going to do it. During my workout I began thinking more and more, and I figured I didn't have anything to lose by trying. The next day I signed the contract and was ready to make a change.

Below my signature I wrote, "I am ready to challenge myself and be a success". My initial goal was to lose eight pounds in the six weeks. I did that halfway through, and by week four I had lost 10 pounds. I was shocked. Once again, if it weren't for the great trainers at B.O.S.S. then I never would have believed I could have been so successful.

Just the other day James told me he wanted me to run a mile within eight minutes. I told him, "I can't do that, I haven't done that in years, maybe like 9:40, at best". But I said, "fine, I will try". I pushed myself and was able to get an 8:55 mile. James knew I could do it all along; I just needed to believe in myself. Time and time again I have proved myself wrong, and I have been able to meet any challenge thrown at me. I feel like I can do anything, and even though that last sit-up or lunge feels like torture, I know that I can always finish.

With the help of these three great men, I am on my way to achieving my weight loss goal. I have lost about 20 pounds so far, and hope to lose about 15-20 more. They have been my rock when I felt weak, and have become people I can truly count on. I am more thankful then they could ever know. They have gone above and beyond what any trainer should ever do. I truly feel like I have a family outside of my own, and I am so proud to be a part of that. I know that B.O.S.S. fitness is one of the best gifts I have received because they have given me the gift of believing in myself, and nothing beats that.

Hey James, I forgot to tell you just how much I REALLY appreciated what you did for me. It's probably best I didnt say it in person because I would have gotten all emotional :) but you have really been an inspiration to me and I know this past year I've known you that I've become a better person due to your influence. There wouldn't be a Modern Comforts Catering today if you hadn't asked me, "what are you waiting on?" I like the tough love you give. You took a chance on me which is something I could not thank you enough for. Also, you helped me on my path to being a healthier person; I weighed 315 when I started and now look at me down almost 3 jean sizes and counting. I just wanted to make sure that I gave honor where honor is due, you are THE Boss.

I would like to let you know that I really thank you for your dedication and hard work. I am 62 years of age and have never had a structured exercise program. I have hunted, stayed involved in athletics and have held jobs that require strength and balance and brain power. The older I got, the easier it was to stay on the couch. The result was that I got weaker, back pains and bad posture. The program you have me in causes a lot of pain sometimes the day after exercises. I have come to realize that these are the muscles that I have neglected. Two to three days, this pain goes away. I am happy to report I am stronger and more mentally alert. . With your help, we have turned the clock back for me. This is kind of long for a testimonial, but not nearly long enough to say thank you, thank you, thank you.

When I first joined the Boss Fitness team I did not know what to expect. I was tired of walking on the treadmill at the local gym trying to follow one of those "trendy" and "unrealistic" diets. James and I sat down at my initial consultation and together we set realistic goals. My workout plan was excellent for me and my body type. I have been with B.O.S.S. Fitness for over 3 years. I have always struggled with my body image and after having my twins 3 years ago, my weight hit an all time high. I began working with Boss nearly five months ago. I have always enjoyed playing basketball, which was my major source of exercise. I played at least twice a week. After turning forty, the consistent pounding took a toll on my knees and back. I met James "Boss" at a ceremony where we both were recipients of small business awards. Feeling a kindred spirit and connection with "Boss," I decided to try his services and I could not have made a better decision. Boss helped me to understand that fitness should be a combination of aerobic exercise and weight training. I used to believe that aerobic was best, but have learned that it takes both types of exercise.

In the first four months I have loss four percent of body fat and gained several pounds of muscle. For years I took aspirin at least once a day because I did not eat or did not want to eat believing that I would gain weight. I was doing more harm to my body by depriving it of essential nutrients thus causing me to have headaches. Now, I eat regularly without the guilt. I have not been dieting and still achieved the results noted above.

We are now entering our second phase of my fitness program. Boss has informed me that I don't eat enough causing my metabolism to slow down therefore slowing my weight loss. He plans to provide me the exact times of the day to eat, about five to six times a day and proper food combinations. I truly believe that second phase will be as good as the results I obtained during the first phase.

I have been with B.O.S.S. since Feb. 16, 2009 and have already seen improvements within my body and mind. I came to you with a low self-esteem and my body was out of shape. Working out with you men has improved my endurance, strength, and my attitude is starting to change to a more positive note. Although the sessions are very challenging for me at the time, I really do appreciate the extra push that you give me to keep going on. "Stay aggressive Tee!!", is what you keep yelling out. That makes me want to push just as hard as I'm being pushed to finish my sets. I have lost one pant size and although the StairMaster is totally not my friend, I find myself taking the stairs everywhere I go now. I am regaining my positive self-esteem and my body back!!!
